Nuance has paired with lead innovators in various fields to bring Nuance’s technology to all.
Supporting cutting-edge research
Nuance has made an investment in Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI GmbH), the world’s largest research center dedicated to the development of AI methods and applications. Nuance and DFKI have also collaborated on the GetHomeSafe project.
Evolving the healthcare to improve care
UPMC and Nuance are two industry leaders who are working together to develop Medical Intelligence solutions as a means to transform the way patient information is captured, understood, and used by caregivers. Our goals are to improve the quality and efficiency of care by creating a more complete and accurate electronic medical record (EMR).
Empowering tomorrow’s innovators
With sponsorship from Mitacs, Nuance and McGill have partnered to create a multi-year student program. Select students from McGill’s Signal Processing lab have the opportunity to visit the Nuance Montreal research site and do hands-on work in Nuances advanced research projects on ASR.
Enhancing voice-powered user interfaces
Nuance actively leverages the power of NVIDIA’s GPUs to advance voice technologies, and ultimately create intelligent and intuitive spoken interactions with our devices, apps, systems, personal assistants, and much more.
Sponsoring groundbreaking research
For several years, Nuance has been an active sponsor of research activities at the Politecnico University of Torino, within the areas of improving voice biometrics technology with respect to accuracy, speed and memory.
Nuance is also a member of several networks sponsored by the EU under the Marie Curie program. Nuance hosts interns from universities such as Radbout University, RWTH Aachen, University of Aalborg, Columbia University, Stanford University, University of Oldenburg, Imperial College London, University of Leuven, University of Antwerp, Ghent University, Hasselt University, University of Edinburgh, and University of Saarbrucken. Additionally, Nuance is an active consortium member in EU funded collaborative research projects like GetHomeSafe. Nuance also has a strong connection with Canadian Universities: Nuance sponsors an industrial Master’s program in Canada and over the last 10 years, Nuance has supported 60 interns from institutions such as the University of Shrebrooke, the University of Waterloo, and others.
