Sneha Jha is a Senior Researcher in the Clinical Language Understanding group with research interests in the areas of natural language processing and machine learning for healthcare. At Nuance, Sneha primarily works on clinical NLP, information extraction, interpretability of statistical models and knowledge engineering for rule-based expert systems. Prior to joining Nuance, she was a graduate student in the Computer Science department of University of Pennsylvania, where she worked on spectral methods to model language semantics. She was also involved in an interdisciplinary research team in the Positive Psychology department which used statistical techniques to model language data from social media. Between her undergraduate degree and graduate degrees, she has also worked as a software developer and consultant for various enterprise applications. She has a keen interest in issues at the intersection of technology with policy, law and ethics.
