Diana Mingels is a Research Scientist in the Applied NLP group of the Natural Language and Artificial Intelligence Lab at Nuance. Her principal research activities are in Natural Language Generation, Natural Language Understanding, Semantic analysis and Speech Dialogue Systems. In addition her interests lie in applied research and development into how AI methods can be used to enhance CRM and Marketing systems. She started her career in the field of machine translation. She was responsible for conceptualizing and creating automated translation solutions for a variety of platforms and market segments. At Nuance she works on various projects devoted to the development of language specific NLU components for virtual assistants. She received an M.S. in Mathematical Linguistics from St. Petersburg State University (RU) and a M.A. in Natural Language Processing and Human Language Technology from the University of Wolverhampton (UK).
