Chuck received his MS in Computational Linguistics from the University of Washington.  After graduating and before joining Nuance, he was part of a team at a startup that built an end-to-end natural language generation (NLG) system for SEO marketing.  He has worked on various NLP-related tasks including NLG, information extraction, and text similarity measurements, and is particularly interested in machine learning and sequence labeling tasks.
Prior to studying computational linguistics, Chuck graduated with a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, and worked as an engineer in the machine automation industry and as a patent examiner.
