Sergey is a NLU research engineer on the dialog team. He joined Nuance after finishing his PhD in the area of Computational Biophysics at the University of Waterloo, where he studied the interaction of nanoparticles with cell membranes using various numerical methods. He has considerable experience in utilizing numerical methods in scientific computing (optimization, numerical integration/differentiation, decomposition methods applied to principal component analysis and data noise reduction), molecular dynamics & Monte Carlo simulations. He also received an IT certification from Lycos in Java, JavaScript, Web Technologies, Object Oriented Programming, MySQL, PHP & Flash. His current research interests are in robust dialog processing. In his free time Sergey likes running and taking photographs.
