Nicolas Gorse obtained a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the University of Montreal in 2006 where he specialized in developing formal methodologies and tools to assist industry in improving the quality and security of their systems and applications. After a few publications in conferences and journals, and a year (lost?) as a post-doc at Centre de Recherche Informatique de Montreal, Nicolas started working seriously in industry, hence (un?)fortunately drifting away from his formal first love. His next journey involved designing and implementing hardware design and verification tools, and later thoroughly optimizing the Verilog compiler/simulator of Synopsys, Inc. Since April 2013, Nicolas happily works in Nuance Montreal's office as a tech lead within the dialog team, developing state-of-the-art multi-modal natural dialog systems.
