Jesús Giménez is a computer scientist, research scientist/engineer and computational linguist. His research interests are related to Machine Learning applied to Natural Language Processing and to the study of Evaluation Methods. Jesús holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya, Barcelona Tech (2001), a Master’s degree in Language and Speech Processing from ISCA/EACL (2001) and a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from Barcelona Tech (2008). His thesis work was mainly focused on the problem of lexical selection in Statistical Machine Translation and the study of evaluation methods for Machine Translation. Jesús' got a solid experience in the development of linguistic processors and end-to-end systems around different Natural Language Processing problems such as Machine Translation, Information Retrieval, Text Categorization and Natural Language Understanding, both in the Academia (Barecelona Tech) and in the Industry (Panasonic, Semantix, ExperienceOn, Google, Nuance).
