Baojie Li received his Bachelor degree in Computer Science in 1989. After eight years of commercial software development, he returned back to school, received Masters in 2000 and PhD in 2003 respectively, both were from Information and Communications Engineering, University of Tokyo. His major was speech recognition and adaptation. Doctoral thesis was “Adaptation of Acoustic Models for Speech Recognition with Focus on Intra-Speaker Variation”. After several years of recovery from a car accident, he joined Professor Hui Jiang’s lab in Computer Science Department of York University as a postdoc. Within two years he did research on speech recognition, text-to-speech synthesis, and voice conversion. Before joining Nuance Communications he worked in NTT Data Canada for three years.
